Mary, Queen of Scots.

I watched the pilot episode of “Reign” a few months ago and with just a few episodes into it, I realized that I was hooked into it.

The series sparkled an interest in me about Mary, Elizabeth and Lady Jane and Catherine De Medici. Believe you me, I spent days watching their documentaries. And when I wasnt watching I was reading articles about them. However, I couldn’t find a proper book that would sum up the intertwined lives of Elizabeth and Mary. Please suggest me a book if you know about it.

While I was at it, I could find myself wondering if the events took place the exact way they were depicted in the show. And if they did, what might the people living in those times have experienced. Did Mary know that people would read about her even after hundreds of years. Did she know that her tragic execution would be engraved in the history.

It has got too heavy. I know!!

So, to lighten up, let’s discuss the three of the most sassiest moments of Mary, Queen of Scots (in Reign. Duh!😝)

1. Lord Liege

Mary decides to take the matter into her own hands to get Scotland out of the secret contract. Did it give everyone the chills when she said “I would defy the devil himself if he tried to buy and sell my country”? And what added more to the scene was the background music when the lord along with his soldiers bows down in front of her. A queen in action. Wasnt she?

2. Return to Homeland

Right when John Knox (along with James by his side, unwillingly of course) is all set to dissolve the monarchy, there enters the queen (after avenging Francis’ death ofcourse…. and that was a different level of sass altogether) and declares, let me quote “I am Mary, queen of Scots, and I have come for my throne”. My oh my… I have never seen someone with so much command in their voice.

3. She slaps Catherine

Ohk… let me admit this first with a heavy heart. I did not like Mary at all in the second season. She could not see anything beyond Condè. It was all about Condè for her. And everything came second to him, including Scotland. But nonetheless, she redeemed herself in the end by proving her loyalty towards Francis. (Now how she did it, how she betrayed Condè, how she stabbed him in the gut and was it ethically right? It is a different question altogether.)

Ohk we have digressed into a different tangent and without further ado, let’s get back to the topic.

She slaps Catherine like the sassy queen that she was. She reminded Catherine of how terrible of a mistake she had made by leading Francis to believe that his son was dead.

So, here we are at the end of the discussion. Tell me what are your thoughts about it in the comment section.

And also guys, what do you think I should be watching next? Tell me in comments. And dont forget to follow and share. Pretty Please.

Looking forward to your thoughts. Till then buh bye… Stay healthy. Stay safe!

The silent patient

When you hear “A murder mystery”, the first thing that pops into your head is – what happened and who did it?. Right?

‘The Silent patient” saves you the time to find out who did it. It’s already there! Alicia Berenson did it. (I love the name by the way)

Alicia killed Gabriel, her husband, point blank.

The book takes you on a long ride of twists and turns, emotional turmoil and some revelations every now and then.

Alicia Berenson doesnt speak for six years after she shoots Gabriel. (Interesting. Right?)

Theo Fiber, the psychotherapist is determined to find out what happened. He thinks he is the only one who can make her speak. And it’s not only Alicia’s story, it’s his story too running parallel to her silence. The demons of his past haunt him while he is struggling with his present. It is not difficult to sympathize with him struggling to keep his marriage from falling apart.

Alicia doesn’t speak but we get to sneak a peek into her life through her journal that she started to writing in before unloading those five bullets in her husband’s head. The journal does a fine job of echoing the saying ‘not everything is at it seems.’ And it is through her journal only that we are hit with the revelation that there was a stalker who made her life pretty terrible. Having said that, the author makes a point of keeping you guessing whether the stalker was real or mere a part of her imagination.

The rest of the story revolves around Theo trying to find out what happened to Alicia, and why did she do what she did. The book runs at a great pace. In fact, you dont even get the urge to get to the end. But when you do…… it leaves you numb for a sweet amount of time and might even compel you to re-read the last few pages just to make yourself sure that you actually read what you thought you read!!!!

In concluding, I think this is by far the best debut psychology thriller I have read till now.

Am I exaggerating it? I dont think so!

Read it to believe it. And those who have already read it… tell me in the comments your thoughts. Also dont forget to follow.

P.S. I really loved how the Athenian tragedy was bought into the picture. I would really love to read more about it!!!

That’s it for today. Stay happy. Stay safe!!

Devil in the house?

Waiting for your thoughts!!

Hey guys… so I am back with another blog. But this time I won’t be talking about any show or movie. Today, I will take the platform and time to talk about a book. My book! Yup. I have just recently published it and am very excited about it.

So without further ado and gushing, I will get down to giving you a gist of what the book is about.

Here I go…..

Can a tumultuous past, a sour relationship, insecurities lead to something as disastrous as a murder.

Yup. This is what the book “Devil in the house?” is all about. The book revolves around the murder of Sarah who, by the way, no one liked. Not even her own sister. And they had their own reasons for that. Having said that, Sarah also had her reasons behind why she behaved the way she did.

Sarah, Mehak, Avni and Divij met one night to have a get together and also to mend their somewhat estranged relationship/friendship.

But everything goes downhill when Sarah is found dead the next day. What adds more to this trauma is Sarah’s manuscript that she was working on.

Mehak, Sarah’s sister, gets hold of that book and she instantly realizes that the book somewhat reminds her of her haunting past and also starts messing up with her present.

The line between the reality and her illusions soon fades as she unintentionally lands her husband- Divij, in trouble.

The rest of the story revolves around finding out about her past, finding out about the killer.

It also witnesses the book taking a huge toll on the relationships.

So, here I am towards the end of the blog asking you to give the book a try. It is available on amazon, kobo and Kindle. It is available for free on kindle for a limited time, so hurry up. Also, please do not forget to share your views on the book as well as on the post.

Signing out for today! Hastala Vista my babies😀😀

And the thrill is back!!!

Hey guys… it’s been a while that I haven’t posted anything as I didnt find anything post-worthy. But guess what? I, as most of you, recently got the best thing to watch- the teaser of “house of dragons” and I loved it (Give me a shout out if you too loved it). I drifted into the reminiscence of the time when I used to set my alarm just to get up 15 mins early before the episode telecasted. Those were the days!!!

The show was crazy popular and for all the right reasons. And one of the most things that I liked about the show was that it had so many characters to root for and every character had its yin and yang. Like, we disliked Jamie Lanister in the start but developed a liking towards him as his character arc grew. And it is just one of so many examples.

My personal favourite character was “Sansa Stark”. Man! Was she a piece of art? But what I hated most was that I think she wasn’t given much credit for her journey, or her struggles.

Agreed that she didnt have any sword fighting skills or dragons but her silence, her strategic mind- they all spoke volumes. Everything that she did, everything that she possessed (including her name) everything resonated with what she was destined to become- a queen.

And her journey wasnt at all a cake walk. With so many monsters hanging around her, she got there all on her own.

And wasn’t she a sassy lady. I think she was.

I am just jotting down a few of my favourite sassiest moments of hers.

1. She tells Joffrey that her brother will give her his head.

I think we all agree here that Joffrey was no less than a combination of a mad king, a cruel king and an irritating king. And yet to stand there surrounded by his loyal or not so loyal nonetheless the guards, and snap at him like the sassy woman that she was. It was bang on.

2. She slaps Robin.

It was a wow moment for me. Really😆. I loved the way the slap came out of nowhere and landed right on his face.

3. She tricks Little finger

It was one of the most manipulative steps. She tricked Littlefinger into believing that she was by his side and fell prey to what he was insinuating about Arya. But boy oh boy. She was two or two hundred steps ahead of him. How she got him and all of us to thinking that she was considering turning against Arya. But instead gave us all a showstopper moment by bringing justice to her father.

So, these were my favourite moments. What were yours. Tell me in the comments. And you can also share with me your favourite characters and the favourite moments. And also please dont forget to like and subscribe. Pretty please😁

Waiting for your thoughts. Till then Peace out✌

How I met your mother?

Hola guys!!
So, I have recently started watching “how I met your mother?”
And I know that I am sixteen years late to the club but it’s never too late right?
Actually, I had a hunch that I would never like the show as I was so hungover on F.R.I.E.N.D.S (we’ll talk about that later) and I thought that nothing could come even remotely close to being as super awesome as F.R.I.E.N.D.S. But Man oh man! Was I wrong.
Everything about the show is so likeable. The characters, the theme, the title song, pretty much everything.
My personal favourite episode so far is the first episode. I couldn’t stop laughing at the fact that Ted was so hell bent on finding the love of his life that he actually told Robin that he loved her on his first non- date date itself.
And do you guys remember ( give me a shout out if you do) the episode where Barney disguises himself as an old scientist and tells Cindy that he was from the future. He says “the woman at that booth is going to slap that man” and then Robin goes on to slap Ted. Could that be more hilarious?
There are other episodes as well that made me go all ROFL. Like the one where Ted can’t remember the girl’s name, so everyone refers to her as “Blah”. I really think that the creativity was at it’s best in that particular episode.
Anyway, I dont think I can just point two or three episodes to be my favourite because you know.
Anyway, you guys let me know which episodes are your favorites in the comments.
P.S. I have also recently finished watching Big Little Lies (I know I am late) but Yowza!!
